Next Meeting!

"We Christians too often substitute prayer for playing the game. Prayer is good; but when used as a substitute for obedience, it is nothing but a blatant hypocrisy, a despicable Pharisaism... To your knees, man! and to your Bible! Decide at once! Don’t hedge! Time flies! Cease your insults to God, quit consulting flesh and blood. Stop your lame, lying, and cowardly excuses. Enlist!" C.T. Studd

Hello everyone,

May this find you growing in your love and appreciation for the God who came to seek and save the lost.

We will be returning to a lesson that we did last year, which will focus on the Great Commission and our enlistment in it as soldiers of Jesus Christ. We will also focus on the proper use of God's law. (1 Timothy 1:8-9)

This week's lesson topic: The Battle for the Lost

"We are at war with a powerful, threefold enemy. But God has given us even more powerful weapons that can ensure victory for every soldier of Christ. Do you know what they are? "Battle for the Lost" will tell you and then climax with a wonderful, clear revelation of what God did for us at the Cross of Calvary. If you get a grip of this revelation, you will never again be powerless against the pleasures of sin or the glitter of this sinful world." - Way of the Master, Season 3

Time: Monday (8/31) 6-8pm
Place: Campus Center (Fourth Floor Lounge)

Hope to see you there!

Meeting! Monday (8/24)

"How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" Romans 10:14-15

Hi everyone!

Thanks to everyone who came last Monday! It was such an encouraging time, and I trust that this semester will be a demonstration of the only, true, living God showing His power through such weakness, so that when it's over, it will be clear that the glory belongs to Him! The battle belongs to the Lord.

His witnesses are not sufficient in themselves, but find their sufficiency in Christ, and I have such anticipation that the laborers He raises up this semester will demonstrate this by His grace.

Our next meeting will be this Monday at the Campus Center at 6pm. It will be a time to pray, get to know each other better, set our meeting times for the semester (bring your class and work schedules!), and consider.....

-God's Will for our Lives
and
-Evangelism by Grace ("Giving our everything while avoiding legalism and enjoying God.")

I think these will be very valuable, and direct us to the right foundation from which we can dive into His Kingdom work!

I look forward to seeing you all soon! Enjoy the last bit of summer. Please let me know if you plan to come to this Monday's meeting! (ccn@iupui.edu)

UPDATES!!

Hey everyone! I'm grateful to be writing you, and look forward to seeing you soon!

School starts soon, and that means we are gearing up to hit the campus with a renewed sense of purpose; reaching out with the Good News, to all people everywhere, not because they deserve Him, but because HE deserves THEM! God is the worthy one, giving breath to people and pursuing them despite their rebellion. It is He who deserves us all to repent and trust Him. He is abounding in love and mercy, and has shown the highest expression of that truth 2000 years ago! How worthy He is, for who He is and what He's done!

Also, please take the time to watch the above video, as it captures much of our heart's cry, personally, and for the church. I trust it will be a blessing.

The Lord willing, our Before School Meeting/Reunion is coming up soon, August 17th! Be sure to check out the details here and RSVP: https://webmail.iu.edu/horde/services/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.evite.com%2Fapp%2FpublicUrl%2FZJKFSNAGNTAWINVSLWBT%2FCCNiupui .

Plus! Did you know that the "Got No Doubt" Conference is coming to Indianapolis? What an opportunity!

This event is on Saturday, August 15th! A group of us will be going, so check it out, and if you want to come with us, register here: http://www.gotnodoubt.com/

There is much catching up to do, and much to look forward to. Hope to see you at our Meeting/Reunion. If not, I look forward to seeing you on campus!

yours in Him, John
